The MassMedNET service has now been restored and members can access their email accounts.  Mail sent to massmed.org addresses and held in queue is now being delivered.  You may notice a slight slowness in responsiveness when accessing, checking, sending, or receiving mail, but this is temporary during the queued mail delivery and should be resolved in a few hours.

For members who check their mail using the Webmail page at http://mail.massmed.org:  as a result of the upgrade you may see an checkbox option “Use Web Messaging Lite.”  This option assists users with low-bandwidth (dial-up) capability to access their mail, but during the queued mail delivery you may still experience some slowness in service.

Special Notice to MassMedNET Account Holders

On Monday, June 6, 2011 from 6:00 to 9:00 a.m. EDT the MassMedNET email service will be unavailable due to an upgrade of the mail server.

What this means to MMS members with a MassMedNET account

Please do not attempt to connect to your MassMedNET account during the upgrade period. You will not be able to send or receive send email from your massmed.org email address during the upgrade. This includes access to your email through an email program such as Outlook, Outlook Express, via the Webmail page, or via a mobile device such as an iphone.

Any email sent to your massmed.org address during the upgrade period will be held in queue and once the upgrade is completed, will be delivered to your mailbox.

What you need to do

Please do not attempt to use your MassMedNET account during the upgrade period. Once the upgrade is complete your MassMedNET email will work as before.

You do not need to make any changes to your computer, Webmail access, or mobile phone MassMedNET setup related to the upgrade.
